Collective Impact is proud to introduce Kris Babbings as President of CI. Kris brings prairie roots, strong business leadership, and a deep respect for producers to the growing sustainability space.

Raised on a mixed grain and purebred cattle operation in southeast Saskatchewan, Kris developed an early appreciation for hard work, community, and agriculture. As an active 4-H member, he credits the program as one of the most impactful influences on his confidence and leadership ability. While agriculture wasn’t initially seen as a clear career path, the values learned on the farm, work ethic, common sense, and integrity, have shaped every step of his journey.

After beginning his career in the oil fields, Kris pivoted toward business and marketing, earning diplomas in Marketing and Business Administration. He went on to build a strong foundation in agricultural and commercial lending, branch management, and leadership within Saskatchewan’s credit union system. Over time, he realized he missed agriculture deeply, often taking time off simply to help friends farm. That pull brought him back to the industry.

Kris went on to build experience in precision agriculture, technology adoption, and agricultural risk management, helping producers better understand and implement data-driven decision-making on their farms. Over time, he advanced into broader leadership roles, where he focused on building teams, strengthening sales processes, and supporting growth across multiple regions. Throughout these experiences, he worked closely with producers across the Prairies, developing strong industry relationships and gaining firsthand insight into the operational, financial, and strategic realities that shape farm businesses.

His move to Collective Impact was driven by the opportunity to help build something meaningful alongside trusted industry leaders. As President, Kris oversees human resources, finance, marketing, and program leadership while working directly with producers on sustainability initiatives. He brings a business-first mindset to CI’s programs, recognizing that producers are running businesses and that meaningful change must make economic sense.

Kris believes that changes on the farm start with the wallet, move to the mind, and end up in the heart. Producers want to do the right thing for their land and their legacy, but it has to work financially first. By focusing on practical, economically sound sustainability programs, Collective Impact supports farms in remaining viable not just environmentally, but long term as businesses.

Outside of work, Kris spends his time at the rink with his kids, hunting, fishing, hiking, and helping farmers during busy seasons. Staying connected to the land and to producers keeps CI grounded in real-world agriculture.

As companies look for ways to support suppliers while meeting sustainability commitments, Collective Impact continues to grow across the Prairie provinces and beyond. Under Kris’s leadership, CI remains focused on practical solutions that work for producers today and help build a resilient agricultural future.
