Derek is a visionary leader in the agricultural sector, with a profound impact on sustainability within the grain industry. His extensive experience in sustainable agriculture, grain merchandising, combined with his pioneering role in the private grain market consulting industry in Western Canada, uniquely positions him to drive sustainable practices.

Derek consults across the Prairies, advocating for and implementing strategies that enhance agricultural sustainability. His deep understanding of the market from various perspectives helps in crafting solutions that are not only economically viable but also environmentally responsible, fostering a more sustainable future for farming communities across Canada.

Kris Babbings

President

Kris blends a lending background with experience in precision ag, ag tech, and crop insurance. Raised on a mixed farm southeastern Saskatchewan and still actively engaged in a northeastern Saskatchewan grain farm, Kris pairs hands-on agricultural knowledge with a love for nature.

His experience is a testament to his commitment to understanding agricultures challenges and creating innovating solutions for farmers’ success. With a passion for agriculture’s sustainability and nature’s preservation, Kris strives to shape a thriving future for both.

Emily Faye

Agronomy and Research Lead

Emily Faye grew up on a farm near Wishart, Saskatchewan, where her early work with cattle and 4-H sparked her interest in agriculture. She has a degree in Agronomy with a minor in Soil Science and completed a thesis on nitrogen use in barley.

Emily has led projects like the Canadian Carbon Program, focusing on precision ag and sustainability. She holds several certifications, including CCA and 4R Stewardship, and is passionate about education and supporting women in ag. Now based in Alberta and B.C., she enjoys the outdoors with her husky and continues to push for better farming practices.

Jason Dobbin

Producer Engagement Specialist, Manitoba

Based in southwestern Manitoba, Jason farms alongside his son on a medium-sized, mixed operation producing grain, oilseeds, and cattle. His operation reflects the reality of Prairie agriculture, a constantly changing land base, highly variable soils ranging from heavy river-flat clays to lighter, erosion-prone ground, and a mix of conventional, zero-till, forage, and regenerative practices.

Jason believes that sustainability initiatives and carbon programs will increasingly become part of mainstream agriculture, but only if they are grounded in common sense and designed with producers in mind. Motivated by the opportunity to help tell agriculture’s story more accurately, Jason's background includes forage production, manure management strategies, and experience working with irrigated potato rotations and livestock and crop insurance.

Kassandra Worley

Office Manager

Kassandra manages all accounts payable and receivable operations, leads office administration, and provides support across marketing activities.
