At Collective Impact, we are creating relationships and fostering the future of sustainability. Here, you will find the Federal & Provincial Government and Industry programs available across the prairies. For more details contact our team!
Federal Program
On-Farm Climate Action Fund
The objective of the fund is to support farmers in adopting beneficial management practices (BMPs) that store carbon and reduce greenhouse gases, specifically in the areas of:
- nitrogen management
- cover cropping
- rotational grazing practices
These practices also provide other environmental benefits such as improved biodiversity and soil health.
Other activities to support the adoption of beneficial management practices, such as outreach, education and training are offered.

Alberta Provincial Programs
Below are several Alberta provincial government programs. As with all programs, funding levels, eligibility requirements, and intake dates may change throughout the year. If you have questions or would like the most up-to-date information, connect with Collective Impact — we’re happy to help.
1. Nitrous Oxide Emission Reduction Protocol (NERP)
The Alberta Offset System includes a number of protocols agricultural producers can follow in order to earn carbon offsets from documented improvements to practice changes. This information sheet focuses on the nitrous oxide emission reduction protocol, which is designed for incremental improvements in nitrogen management.
2. Alberta Water Program
Helps producers adopt agricultural water management practices for continued growth and long-term success of the agriculture industry.
3. Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership in Alberta (Sustainable CAP)
Includes Programs for:
Greenhouse Growers & Vertical Farms - This program supports new or improvements of existing greenhouses and vertical farms which produce food at a commercial scale.
On Farm Efficiency Program – Support producers in achieving environmental benefits by improving the efficient use of agricultural inputs.
On-Farm Value Added – Helps primary producers grow sales, expand production capacity, explore market opportunities and create jobs in Alberta.
Resilient Agricultural Landscape – Supports producers to conserve and enhance the environmental resiliency of their agricultural landscapes.
Water – Helps producers adopt agricultural water management practices for continued growth and long-term success of the agriculture industry.
4. AFSC
Agriculture Financial Services (AFSC) works with producers to develop risk management plans that fit their operations, providing Alberta’s farmers and agribusinesses with annual, perennial and hail insurance; farm and agribusiness loans; livestock price insurance; and farm income stabilization options.
5. RDAR
Producer Research and Evaluation Project - Funding is available for on-farm research that helps producers evaluate the feasibility and impact of new production practices, technologies, or products under real farm conditions.
On-Farm Climate Action Fund - The objective of the fund is to support farmers in adopting beneficial management practices (BMPs) that store carbon and reduce greenhouse gases, specifically in the areas of nitrogen management, cover cropping and rotational grazing practices.
Saskatchewan Provincial Programs
Below are several Saskatchewan provincial government programs. As with all programs, funding levels, eligibility requirements, and intake dates may change throughout the year. If you have questions or would like the most up-to-date information, connect with Collective Impact — we’re happy to help.
Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership in Saskatchewan (Sustainable CAP)
1. Farm and Ranch Water Infrastructure Program (FRWIP)
The Farm and Ranch Water Infrastructure Program provides rebates to develop secure and sustainable agricultural water sources, such as wells, dugouts, pipelines and dams. The program also supports rural well decommissioning.
2. Irrigation Program
Irrigation programming supports sustainable agriculture water management and adaptation to climate change by expanding irrigation development and improving irrigation efficiencies.
3. Resilient Agricultural Landscapes Program
The Resilient Agricultural Landscapes Program (RALP) provides funding to producers to increase the environmental resiliency of agricultural land. The program helps producers achieve outcomes related to water quality, soil health and biodiversity through the adoption of beneficial management practices.
4. Crown Land Pasture Association Invasive Weed Program
The purpose of the Crown Land Pasture Association Invasive Weed Program is to provide financial assistance to pasture associations on agricultural Crown land. The program supports costs to undertake and coordinate the control of prohibited weeds as well as specific noxious weeds that are persistent and problematic invasive plants.
5. Livestock Facility Emissions Program
The Livestock Facility Emissions Program (LFEP) provides funding to producers with intensive hog and sheep barns where animals are continuously housed indoors. The program supports facility upgrades, practices and technologies that improve energy efficiency and manage manure emissions, which can support reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and lower operating costs.
6. Animal Health and Biosecurity Program
The Animal Health and Biosecurity Program is designed to provide support to producers in the apiculture, beef cattle, bison, cervids, small ruminants (sheep/goats), dairy, poultry and swine sectors. The purpose of the program is to increase participation in biosecurity and animal welfare initiatives.
Manitoba Provincial Programs
Below are several Manitoba provincial government programs. As with all programs, funding levels, eligibility requirements, and intake dates may change throughout the year. If you have questions or would like the most up-to-date information, connect with Collective Impact — we’re happy to help.
1. Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program: Watershed Resilience
The objective of the Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program (RALP): Watershed Resilience is to increase the environmental resilience of agricultural landscapes by accelerating the adoption of on-farm land use and beneficial management practices (BMPs).
2. Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership in Manitoba (Sustainable CAP)
Includes programs for:
Cropland Management - Funding to support cropland management practices that optimize operations and improve productivity.
Manure and Livestock Management - Funding to support practices that improve livestock performance and manure management.
Water Management - Funding to support the supply, efficient use, quality and management of water.
